This week we have Auckland Rowing at our school teaching our students how to row on indoor rowers. The purpose of the programme is to allow a younger audience to experience rowing – to build awareness. They have set up a number of indoor rowers inside a classroom which are all linked through a computer so the students race each other to beat their time. Essentially, every pupil in the school ‘experiences rowing’; races with their classmates (results/times are recorded; and a class final decides the class representatives). The class representatives will race off in a school wide final at the end of the programme (this will be Friday 3rd June, from 2 - 3pm). Parents are more than welcome to come and watch, even participate if they wish! The environment is hard to describe in words – it is overwhelmingly competitive, inclusive, fun and engaging. You have to experience the excitement to believe it. *The cost of this fun opportunity is a GOLD COIN donation - to be brought in by Friday 3rd June please*.
