Welcome from the Principal
Our students are ‘The Face of the Future'. We live in an area rich with multicultural, vibrant, aspiring, young people and it is our accepted responsibility, and strong desire to open the future to them. They are growing up in a digital world and need their schools to reflect these realities.
In order to best meet our students' needs the six schools in the local area, Pakuranga Intermediate, Edgewater College, Pakuranga Heights, Riverina, Riverhills and Anchorage Park have formed a cluster of schools. The initial focus of the Cluster's approach to teaching and learning is the formation of an information literate community of schools and schools' communities largely through the effective use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology).
In the spirit of life long learning we are seeking to create learning pathways which sustain these students through, and beyond the years of their schooling. We are seeking to create opportunities for our students across the cluster of schools which puts education in the Pakuranga area at the cutting edge of change.
Pakuranga Intermediate School is a smaller family oriented school where the students are immersed in a friendly yet challenging environment. Our aim is to foster high levels of achievement and opportunities for all children to reach their full potential within programmes which are appropriate to their needs. We provide a variety of specialised learning experiences for students to begin to discover their particular fields of expertise before advancing to secondary school. Our Gifted and Talented programmes focus on extending our most talented students in a variety of curriculum areas and our sports, technology, cultural and arts programmes provide a wealth of opportunities for our students.
We look forward to having a partnership with you as parents in enhancing your child's learning power.
